Gewinner 2008!

Unfortunately the festival can’t take place in Heidelberg this year. We are now looking for a new venue. There we will show re/act with all its modules as planned.

The re/act Festival consists of five core modules:

  1. Competition and exhibition of international students works
  2. A multi-day symposium with renowned artists, theorists and curators, as well as science and industry representatives
  3. Workshops on contemporary topics and technologies
  4. A platform for international art and design colleges
  5. A special exhibition presenting works by internationally established and renowned artists

Exhibition, Symposium and Workshops

The exhibition showcases the best international student works. It is accompanied by a special presentation of works by renowned media artists. On the one hand, the exhibition focuses on offering an adequate presentation for each individual work, while at the same time providing a coherent overall exhibition design that turns a visit to the exhibition into a fascinating experience for the viewers.

The several-day symposium and accompanying series of workshops give new insights into and novel perspectives on the process of artistic creation and technological developments.

Platform for Universities and Academies

re/act's university platform provides a forum for international design and art colleges to present their activities with information booths, lectures and screenings. The synergies are plain to see:
The platform aims at stimulating international exchange and co-operations. Students can learn more about the individual institutions, talk to professors, and get a comprehensive overview of the courses offered. In addition, the platform can serve as a decision-making aid for study and career planning, as well as an important resource to learn more about current tendencies in digital media art.

The Competition

re/act's competition is announced at more than 500 international art and design colleges and is aimed at students in arts courses. A jury of internationally acknowledged experts evaluates the submissions and selects the award winners.

Awards go to works from the following disciplines:

Video arts
Interactive art
Live video & performance
Game art
